Elevating traditional Palauan art.

Created in Los Angeles CA, by Tangerine Kimmel, a Palauan-Mexican American artist.

Palauan storyboards, typically carved into planks of wood, are illustrations that depict Palauan peoples' culture and history. Kimmel’s first storyboard came to fruition after their Palauan grandmother passed away shortly after their move to LA. As an instinctual way of mourning, they found themself diving head first into their craft. By doing so, the connection to Palau became stronger when familiarizing and retelling these stories.  Today they continue "storyboarding" as an educated intervention to folks who may not have heard of Palau before; as well as embracing and preserving two important art forms.
